Personality: Like many Sixth Rangers, Gai is... well... amazing. He's the guy who had something Captain Marvelous didn't have (a drive to save Earth), could fight just as good as Joe and cook just as well as Doc. As well, all of those skills seem to impress the hell out of the two girls, Ahim and Luka. Combine that with Gai's complete and utter fanboyism over everything Super Sentai and his powers and you'd think he's something of a Gary Stu. But, he's shown to be more than that.
Despite all of his skills, he's still shown to be a normal teen growing up. Always moving, he was determined to befriend people everywhere he went, which explains his attachments to everyone. He's shown that while he can cook, its Doc who has the better sense of preparing foods (Gai cooks for cooking's sake, Doc cooks to deal with the team's nutrtional needs in mind. In other words, Gai cooks, Doc cooks healthily.) As well, despite being a Super Sentai fanboy and knowledgable of all things Sentai, he doesn't know the meaning of being a Sentai and what it means to be one - he was willing to give his Gokai Cellular to Hyuuga, the former Black Knight of the Seijuu Sentai Gingaman, when he felt he would do better and also was willing to use the Greatest Treasure in the Universe to rid the universe of the Zangyack Empire when he felt that the situation was utterly hopeless, having to be talked down by the other Gokaigers. As well, while he might be incredibly hot-blooded, he can also be very annoying, as he tends to be very, very, touchy-feely, especially when he fanboys around other Sentai warriors. He's also had the other Gokaigers leave him behind out of utter boredom (mostly due to his lectures about the other Sentai teams)
As well, Gai does tend to be a bit of a butt-monkey. His over-enthusiasm tends to leave his partners speechless (such as Gai's over the top introduction of Go-On Wings leaving everyone staring and speechless with the exception of Ahim, who thought it was awesome), his teachings go ignored (he designs his own Super Sentai encyclopedia for the other Gokaigers to use, only to find out that they didn't bother to read it at all and even sneak away from his teachings to go get ice cream) and is usually ragged on for being late concerning incidents beyond his control (such as rescuing the team after the Space Sheriff Gavan arrested them and it took him awhile to find and rescue them) and that's just for starters.
Despite this, Gai's determined. Despite his misgivings as a Sentai warrior at times, he's determined to protect his home from the Zangyack and anyone who wants to mess with it. This goes as far as to head out into batttle after having his arm broken. As well, seeing as Gai recognizes when someone's not feeling all that right, he does his best to try to win them over, especially with that humongous grin of his. It takes him awhile, but he'll usually win them over.
Other: Gai isn't just a normal human teen - he's the 16th Sixth Ranger, Gokai Silver! As a member of the Gokaigers, he has access to the dimensional treasure box known as the Treanger Box, a treasure chest that hold the Ranger Keys of the 34 Super Sentai teams. Though he has access to all save the other Gokaiger keys, Gai primarily uses the Sixth Ranger keys - Dragon Ranger (Mighty Morphin' Green Ranger), Kibaranger (Mighty Morphin' White Ranger), King Ranger (Gold Zeo Ranger), Mega Silver (Silver Ranger), Time Fire (Quantum Ranger), Gao Silver (Lunar Wolf Ranger), Shurikenger (Green Samurai Ranger (Ninja Storm ver.)), DekaBreak (Omega Ranger), MagiShine (Solarius Knight), Bouken Silver (Mercury Ranger), Go-On Gold and Go-On Silver (Ranger Series Gold and Silver), ShinkenGold (Gold Samurai Ranger) and GoseiKnight (Robo Knight). As Gokai Silver, he is armed with the Gokai Spear, a trident-like weapon that can also convert into a gun.
However, this isn't the extent of Gai's powers. Gai, inexplicably, has the ability to combine keys and create brand new ones out of other items. The first case of this was the Go-On Wings key, created when he couldn't think of either transforming into either Go-On Gold or Go-On Silver to join the rest of the team as the Engine Sentai Go-Onger (Power Rangers RPM). By combining all 15 keys, he created the Anchor Key, which gives him a special armor and turns the Gokai Spear into its anchor mode, the Gokai Silver Gold Mode. He was also able to turn Gokai Red and Gokai Green's keys to become Gokai Christmas. Yes, this is a thing. In Superhero Taisen, Gai is able to turn the Core Medals of Kamen Rider OOO into Ranger Keys of OOO's various forms, meaning he could do this to other items related to that person (for example, using my guys, he could turn some of the Heart Seeds gathered in the Heartcatch Pretty Cure world to form Ranger Keys of the four Pretty Cures there). It's said, when he first created the Go-On Wings key, that he "imagined it" - "it" meaning "he imagined meeting Go-On Gold and Go-On Silver and they solved his problem by fusing into Go-On Wings"
As with other Sentai, he also has his own machine - the GouZyuJin. The machine has three forms. First is GouZyuDrill, a flying machine with a massive drill. Powered by the Greater Power of the Mirai Sentai Timeranger (Power Rangers Time Force), it also has the ability to travel through time. It's also armed with laser cannons and can attack with its drill. The second is the GouZyuRex, a tyrannosarus form GouZynJin takes. Powered by the Greater Power of the Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers) the machine uses attacks used by the Tyrannosaurus (Tyrannosaurus Dinozord) and Dragon Ceasar (Dragonzord) with a laser breath attack and drill tail. The last one is the full GouZyuJin, powered by the Greater Power of the Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger (Power Rangers Dino Thunder), it's ultimate attack being the Gokai Triple Drill Dream. It can also combine with Gokai-Oh (the Gokaigers' combined mech) to become GouZyu GokaiOh and, later, Kanzen Gokai-Oh.
His biggest contribution is his knowledge of all things Super Sentai, going so far as to create an encyclopedia about the previous 34 Sentai teams. However, he's far from utterly knowledgeable about them; amongst his mess ups include not realizing Navi's clue "uaoh!" meant "UAOH", the group that functions the Chouriki Sentai OhRanger, not realizing Gai Yuuki, Black Condor of the Choujin Sentai Jetman, had died (then again, his fate at the end of Jetman was incredibly ambiguous), didn't recognize AbareBlue's wife (who, at one time, dressed up as the Abarangers' "Sixth" member, AbarePink, an embarrassment Ahim would go through, too) and while he recognized Tsukasa Kadoya as a Kamen Rider, he didn't point out his encounter with the Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.

I'll win them over and I'll be both Sentai AND pirate! It's going to be awesome! I don't care if the Zangyack'll put a bounty on my head, as long as I'm protecting the Earth, it'll all be worth it.
AND! With the power of the other Sentai with me, I'll...! [And Gai's face goes from excited to "Oh, Crap!"] Other Sentai... AUGH! The Ranger Keys! I still need to be able to get them, too! Gah, that's what Captain Marvelous-san wanted me to do!

Third Person: Sentai, Pirate, now teacher. Gai had a lot going for him. As the only guy in the team who knew anything about the 34 Sentai on Earth, he had to figure out someway to help the team find the rest of the Greater Powers and obtain the Greatest Treasure in the Universe. And he had the right thing for the job.

But, if they would also help future generations down the line? He'll add them all in! But, what of the others that aided the Sentai or appeared in this world? The Space Sheriffs - Gavan, Shaider and Sharivan - hadn't been active on Earth for two decades. The three Kamen Riders who appeared with the Shinkengers - Decade, DiEnd and Kuuga - only appeared that once. And then, there's the rumors of a group of girls known as "Pretty Cure", with two of them being seen by the DekaRangers and MagiRangers...
"Oh, why did everyone see them before I could?!" Gai groaned, a little upset that the other pirates had met those teams before he could join. Would of made this a lot easier for him. "Mmph! I'll add them in, no worries! I'll figure something out and hopefully, it'll be for the best!"
